Chris D'Amico Entertainment

As much as I want to give Chris an A+ there was an incident that occurred that I believe could have been handled more professionally. Long story short -- my dad felt the music was too loud, rather then droppign the volume a bit, Chris and my dad argued and worse yet - brought ME the bride into the middle of it! Chris got pissed off (which I can't blame him for as he was doing his job and doing it very well) but he sent the female singer and sax player home (mind you I paid extra for them) which I felt was unprofessional and could have and should have been handled differently - my dad and/or Chris should have delt with the maitre de on this one... I just also want to add - even though I hgave Chris a B I would Definately recommend him -- I love the guy, he's an awesome entertainer and has a fabulous voice - the entire situation should have been handled differently! My dad was 135% wrong in the situation. ~Lorie&Peter

Steve from Cisco's DJ

It’s hard for me to give a review of his work cause he ended up leaving after the first dances and sending a replacement. His father had passed away the day before the wedding. He apologized profusely to me and I actually told him he shouldn’t have come at all. He really wanted to be there for my ceremony, introductions and dances. I was impressed that he showed up at all I wouldn’t have blamed him if he didn’t. I was kinda bummed because the guy, Rich, the replacement was fine and played a large variety of music, but I really liked Steve, but such is life and it wasn’t worth getting upset about. Like I said if it was me I wouldn’t have even showed up.  Rich had a battle with my crowd, we have never been a big dancing group, myself and Jesse included. It was slow to get people on the floor and it was never packed but that is no fault of the DJ, that’s just my family and friends.  We're more talkers than dancers.  We don't see each other often so we like to catch up over dancing. ~ moscatelloc

Colorblind Productions - Hillside ballpark ≈ $1100 (includes: CH & reception)

We originally were going to go with an ipod package but got cold feet at the last minute and we are SO glad we hired Rob for full DJ services. He and his wife, Diane, work as a team and Diane was amazing on the day of the wedding -- she was pretty much like a day-of coordinator. She handed me drinks, gave me lipgloss, pinned up my bustle when it fell down and lit candles that blew out, etc., etc. Beyond all that, though, they REALLY know their music. I know every bride says this, but our dance party was off the hook (which was so unexpected!). Everyone was on the dancefloor. Colorblind specializes in multicultural productions and they seamlessly melded our crazy backgrounds -- my side is Irish and my husband's is Indian -- and Rob managed to mix both types of music seamlessly. We gave a few songs on CD to Rob beforehand but he already had a big library of all kinds of ethnic music, which I thought was fantastic. He really knows his stuff! Great music aside, you should hire Colorblind because they're not just awesome DJs; they were an amazing team. It was so much fun. Even our waiters were bopping around to the music! Also, they are incredibly affordable! Love them!! ~ phru phru

To say that Dianne Velez is amazing is an understatement. We hired her husband to be a DJ and she comes along to give him a hand MCing. We then hired her to coordinate our ceremony and she did a fantabulous job! If not for her, the wedding would have not been as amazing or gone as smoothly. The fact that she is bilingual just made her even more wonderful—we had family visiting from Colombia and she was so helpful in terms of communicating with them. She comes armed with a fanny pack full of goodies and was able to repair my bustle twice (thanks for stepping on it, Mom…heehee) and set everything up for us. She made our bridal party feel comfortable and our two readers said they felt so much better thanks to her. Our friends asked for their contact information so they can book them in the future. Communication with them was wonderful and seamless. Rob was able to mix pop music for us and our friends with Spanish music for my Colombian family and friends. He mixed our entrance song with our first dance song perfectly. If you are looking for a non-cheesy, but entertaining DJ, Rob is your guy. AND, they are so affordable. Seriously, go book them. Now. ~ Isabella

Danny C Entertainment

I'd heard people on this board say Danny practically doubled as a "day of coordinator" & it's true: the man knows how to run a party smoothly & make sure you enjoy it! We didn't have a huge "dancing crowd" but he kept our floor packed. He was great to work with leading up to the wedding, kept reminding us the day would go fast, have FUN (it did; we did!). He made sure I didn't get pasta sauce on my dress; made me tuck a napkin into it. lol. Lively, professional, took all of our requests into account. Detail-oriented. He is a musician & he definitely "knows music," all types, all eras. Oh, and he gave us copies of CDs he made (1 for cocktail hour music, 1 for dinner music, 1 of what he played at the reception, etc.) as a nice little "gift" to have! If he weren't working your wedding, you'd want him as a guest. ~ Jaytee501

Dash of Class

DDM Entertainment - Fair Lawn

Diamond Productions

So people have told me how they danced the night away and how the music was good but honestly I can’t say the same b/c I can’t really remember much about the music b/c I was being pulled in a million directions the whole night. All in all it seems like everyone had a blast and danced a lot. The one thing that I do have to mention (b/c I have to give fair reviews) is that he did screw up my first dance mix and not only that but he actually came to my bridal room to ask me some questions about it b/c he hadn’t done it ahead of time. I did send him the mix information the day before the wedding but I just felt like it was something that he could’ve done prior to about 1 hour b/f our main entrance. On the other hand I have to say that he was also interrupted a couple of times by the TV crew which could’ve impacted the way he did his job and he seemed to handle that very well. In summary, everyone danced their shoes off and had a good time so in the end that’s all that matters. I would still recommend diamond b/c I think the little things that went wrong were not completely their fault. ~ N&W09

Digital Entertainment

DJ Associates

This is actually my brothers DJ company. Although he wasn't the DJ that night (he was in the wedding), the other guys that he works with did an amazing job. They had everyone on the dance floor all night. The music was great, the MC was so personable, the lighting looked amazing our GOBO turned out perfect! I knew they would do a great job, but I have to say, they exceeded my expectations! Our videographer works for his company too- I can't really rate him yet but as far as that day- he was great to work with. ~ misskris927

DJ Gaza

DJ's Unlimited South Asia

I think these guys were my favorite venue to work with. They were AWESOME!!!!!!!!I really cannot say enough good things about them.Everyone commented to me about how much fun they had at the reception. They specialize in interfaith weddings and they put on an awesome party.I used MC Martin and he was great. They also provided lighting, which really made such a big difference in the room. They are a little on the expensive side for a DJ, but they are TOTALLY worth it.The sales guy is amazing, he remembers everything and allowed me to attend a few events to check out the lighting and MC.They are the best – if you don’t want your typical DJ and you don’t want to spend the $ for a band, get these guys, you won’t be disappointed! ~ raesan24

Don Slanina

While I was skeptical because I didn't hear him perform before our wedding - he did a very good job. He played everything I requested, and had our guests dancing the whole time. He also handled our announcements really well. My only complaint is that my father gave him two Israeli songs to play, and he decided to play them when everyone was supposed to be seated and eating. So, many of my close family members kind of felt obligated to stop eating and dance. I just wished he could've made it fit more into when everyone was dancing cause it would've made people who were already dancing - try dancing to a new type of music. ~ Mishie

DTM Productions

DTM deejayed at DH cousin’s wedding and no one sat in their seats the entire time so I knew I wanted them as our wedding deejay and my guests did not sit down either. Rick was incredible as the MC. He had everyone up on the dance floor the entire evening. The dance floor was packed the entire night even while dinner was served. I believe that the music really makes or breaks your reception. ~ Heater020780

Elegant Ensembles

They were phenomenal and both Mike and I think they truely made the party. Jerry was our DJ and was so accomodating. I know the owner can be a PIA with calling, but use it to your advantage and get the price dropped like we did. ~ Lovemuffin1125

Elite Sound Entertainment - Saddle Brook ballpark ≈ $2200 (includes: CH, reception, lighting & candids)

Mike split the time with the band and also set up the uplighting for us.We also has a last minute request when we got to the venue to do the bouquet and garter toss and he was very accommodating.Between Mike and the middle eastern band, the dance floor was SUPER packed the whole night. ~ Jerzee

Only recently did I see a lot of talk about their company and how great of a job they do which was very concerning to my dad when we first booked with as I posted above West-Indian folks want to hear soca, calypso, reggae etc and Johnny Budz and his MC did such a great job doing that as well as other music and coordinating with the steel band that people were on the dance floor all night. It all came together beautifully and we had a blast. ~ princet1

I have no idea who the DJ was because MH dealt with all of that, but they were really great about getting everyone up and grooving
they had some interactive stuff, but nothing lame and they played a lot of great music. They played everything people requested and nothing we didn't want. The bonus was that the DJ did not use a cheesy DJ voice that you often hear. Or at least that I have been painfully subjected to at weddings ~

Elite Entertainment - Eatontown ballpark ≈ $1450 (includes: CH & reception)

Jay is so great to work with. He has a very upbeat personality and we actually had him SING during our cocktail hour. Our guests were FLOORED! I had a lot of guests go up to him and ask for his card afterwards. He had great suggestions as to what songs to use for our reception, but totally went with our ideas of what we wanted ~ Bashert628

The 2nd comment that our guests made about the wedding after they raved about the food was about how great the DJ was.  She has a great personality, very energetic, and got people out dancing!  Tara also sings and sang 2 or
3 songs during dinner as well as the song that I danced with my mother to, and she sounded great.  She played all the songs that we requested and didn’t play anything that was on our do not play list (even when guests requested some of them).  We are really happy with our choice of DJ.  Highly Recommend. ~30may09bride

Dominic Sestito was my DJ/Emcee for the evening he was amazing he did everything I asked of and more! The whole dance floor was packed the whole night, which is just what I wanted! He was so nice and understanding through the whole process and delievered when it came to the most important part of the reception and that was the entertainment! he did all separate songs for the parents & bridal party couples like i asked and it ran so smoothly the way he did it. there was no weird transition between each song change for each couple! I am so happy with Elite Entertainment and have been to another wedding where tom monaco was the emcee and he was awesome as well! I have also heard raves about the whole elite entertainment team....so either way you cant go wrong....dominic was one of my best choices and I thank him everyday that he gave and my guests such a wonderful night!  ~ Dancer2873

ESP Entertainment

Frank rocked. He was there for me asking me if i needed anything all night. He checked everything with us and did a good job. The music rocked and the dance floor was packed all night. At times you couldnt hear him speak over the bass so i had some complaints but i didnt notice too much. ~ shelene.suefert

Excel Entertainment

I can not rave about Excel enough. Jason (the owner and our MC) has been so great to work with. He is very easy going, helpful and always great about answering emails and returning phone calls. We wanted someone young who would seem like they would fit in with our circle of friends but also professional and able to get the job done. Jason was all of that. MH and I were talking about him today and we decided if we ever needed another DJ we wouldn't call anyone else but him. The DJ and lighting tech did a great job as well. The dance floor was packed all night and they played exactly what we wanted them to. Our photo montage was beautiful. Jason was a really great entertainer as well. He played electric guitar on a couple songs which a lot of people were very impressed with and he also did a couple acoustic songs during dinner. He even got into our "dance circle" at one point and started moon walking during a MJ song. He was so fun and professional and def. one of my favorite vendors to work with. ~melissa721

Bill did a fantastic job with the wedding. We saw him at a bridal show and after I won a free light package we decided to book. With 2 weeks left before the wedding he was able to add a GOBO light (which was a big hit). Bill works only with MP3s which made doing our play list a lot easier since it was all done online. Afterwards he gave me a CD with all our songs on it. He stuck to our Must Play/Play if Possible/Do Not Play lists very closely. We didn't want a lot of talking, just someone to play music and introduce us which is exactly what we got. My only complaint about them is that I picked about 5 slow songs that I wanted played and he played them all back to back during dinner. They were songs that I would have liked to slow dance to, but Mark would have rather eaten dinner. ~ CM1206

Good Time Productions

We used Anthony Gelo, of Good Times Productions, as our DJ. He was personable and had the right personality for the sort of DJ we want. He brought an assistant and did two setups - one for the ceremony, and another for the cocktail hour/reception. He was amazing, kept everyone dancing, took requests, and announced us exactly the way I wanted. He was fun and lively. Unlike some DJs I've seen, he didn't sound like a lounge performer or a game show host. We were very happy with him. ~ LarissaAnn

Just Sing and Dance DJ

They did a great job with our ceremony music and at the reception. They had everyone dancing at every moment. The lights they brought filled out the room really well. ~ mcconvillejulia

Legendery Entertainmnet

The owners name is Chris and our day of MC was Anthony. I never saw them actually in person at a wedding so I was a little concerned about using them. If you are looking to have a fun, upbeat, DJ that is geared towards a young crowd, this is the DJ for you! They were awesome and had surprises I didn’t know about but loved! They had all the men at our wedding get down around me on one knee and sing “My Girl” and “My Guy, My God” to my DH (the ladies did this). It was such a cute alternative to doing a bouquet & garter toss. Almost all of our guests stayed until the very last song and it was definitely because Anthony was such an awesome MC and his assistant was great as well. ~ alyssa44

The Pros - DJ Ant  (Antoine Williams)

The Pros get knocked a lot on here, but we had a great experience. We booked through one of their shows so we got to see lots of DJs to a little performance and pick the one we liked best. Ant was fun, but not over the top and kept the dance floor packed all night. If you’re looking for something budget-friendly, I would definitely recommend looking into him. ~ Kate&Mark

Sentimental Street - Piscataway

Soundtrax Enterprises

Abe was the DJ at our wedding. It wasn't even a week after we decided to use him and he already visited the venue, looking at the space, checking out the size of the room, etc. Abe guided us as to what types of songs were best played during dinner, were best for dancing, etc. He also gave us ideas for various events during the wedding, such as alternatives for garter throw, an anniversary dance, etc. Abe was set up well in advance of the wedding. He “snacked” a bit during the cocktail hour, as he thought it was “unprofessional” to leave his music unattended. The songs went seamlessly from one to another, with Abe talking when necessary, but always very unobtrusively. One of the highest compliments I can give Abe is that so many people came up to me after the wedding and said that it was the first wedding they had gone to in a long time that they did not have to scream to the person next to them in order to have a conversation. The music volume was perfect for dancing, yet people were able to enjoy the company of each other. I would not hesitate to recommend him for any occasion that requires a DJ. ~ Deener731
