Arlene's Bridal Salon - Bloomfield

My wedding gown was truly amazing. Jaime & Debbie were such wonderful people to work with. They were so calming through the planning process and I was never worried about my dress or and of my BM’s dresses getting done. They have great pricing and were able to alter my gown extremely fast since I was out of state.  ~ alyssa44

I have to give Arlene's 2 grades here. Everyone there is really awesome to work with and helped me out with my BM drama. I really like them and thought they were really sweet. But, I also had bad experiences. One of my out of state BM's dress was shipped to the wrong address. The alterations were horrific. My BM dresses weren't ready when certain girls came (they had a scheduled appt and Arlene's acknowledged their mistake) and they had to go through several fittings to get them to fit. None of the alterations were hard, dresses just needed to be taken in and up. The new seams were bunchy and not smooth. Also, my dress cap sleeves kept sliding all night. I don't know if its because they are taking on too much work or what, but I was disappointed and so were my girls. If I was to do it again, I'd order from there and take it elsewhere to be altered. ~Lovemuffin1125

My mother and I LOVED this place and Debbie in specific. She always made sure that everything was done right, and that all of the alterations looked perfect on my dress. Their service was great, and we really liked shopping somewhere that actually knew us when we came back. I was their first "pink bride" and they would always have all of their workers come out and see my dress whenever I tried it on. lol as you can tell, I LOVED my dress! They handled everything for us and we didn't have to worry about a thing. We even got the tuxes there and they looked awesome on the guys. ~ Mishie

Bijou Bridal - Paramus

Bridal Reflections - NYC

I loved my Romona Keveza gown and received nothing but the best attention at this shop. I did run into a snafu with the belt, however, when the wrong size was delivered. This provided some extra pre-wedding stress as it wasn't clear until 2 days before the wedding whether or not a new belt would arrive. The shop was very accommodating and they really did go out of their way to offer me several alternatives (at no charge). Fortunately, everything worked out in the end and I had the original belt I wanted. ~ Strunella

Bridals by Roma - Clifton

I decided to buy at Roma's after finding my dress at another store, i did get the best price & my saleswoman, Angie, was not pushy at all. The general manager, Joanne, may have a reputation as being "bold," she's a strong personality but we hit it off & she was there for all (3) of my fittings, looking at the dress personally, etc. She's been there @15 years. Most of Roma's seamstresses have been there for 20+ years; I think that speaks well of a place, to retain their employees for a good period of time. I worked with Wlaja who was excceptionally knowledgable, precise & sweet; my hem, bustle & adjustment to neckline were perfect. I've heard raves about the seamstress manager, Maria, as well. ~ Jaytee501

My dress was fabulous, I cannot say enough wonderful things. It fit like a glove, they made any tiny alteration I requested and also had good suggestions. It was so comfortable I did not want to take it off at the end of the night. My bustle did not fall and you could hardly tell it was bustled, people even asked if my train was detachable. ~ caketime

Although some people have had bad experiences there, I have nothing but good things to say about them. From the moment I walked in they were very nice to me. They let me try on a whole bunch of dresses and the consultant was even helping me make a decision with the type of dress that I wanted. The seamstress was super nice and fun to work with. She did a really nice job taking in my gown and doing the bustle. The only reason I didn’t give Bridals an A+ was b/c my bustle fell apart at the reception but it was mostly the fault of everyone who kept stepping on me. Also, on my last fitting there was this really minor change (I mean extremely minor) that the seamstress was going to do to the hem which the night of the wedding I realized she had forgotten to do. But that was not enough to ruin my experience with them. I would highly recommend them. ~ N&W09

Chrissy O Design - Newton

I worked with Cathy and she was very helpful and wonderful to deal with. I bought my dress during their black card sale which entitled me to 30% off my dress and everything else I bought in the store, so my mom, MIL, FG dresses, BM dresses, and accessories were all 30% as well. Their customer service was wonderful. Sometimes it takes awhile for them to pick up the phone which is frustrating but worth it if you keep trying ~ CM1206

Both Moms, the bridesmaids and I all got our dresses here. Although the dresses turned out fine in the end, the communication was lacking. If you walk in and you’re not the bride, you definitely get second-rate service. My Mom was very turned off that if she went by herself to look, they just about ignored her. There was also miscommunication with the seamstress – she was on vacation the week of my wedding and they kept changing the story on when alterations could be done by. One bridesmaid ended up taking her dress elsewhere to get fitted because of the BS. ~ Kate&Mark

Cinderella Bridals - Matawan

Cinderalla Bridals has a decent selection of gowns and are reasonably priced. My gown turned out GORGEOUS, as was my veil, headpiece, and jewelry, however I was not satisfied with their customer service. They always seemed "too busy" to help you out unless you had an appointment (we went looking here for a Mother of the Bride dress and left because no one helped us out) ~ Bashert628

This is the only store I went shopping in and was very happy with them from my first appointment. Service was good, selection was good, price was good, and I love the Maggie Sottero dress that I bought there.  The only alteration that I needed was a bustle, but that was done well.  Recommend ~ 30may09bride

I loved my dress and Anna the seamstress is amazing there. After going there so many times for my fittings and the bridesmaids’ fittings, I really got to know the ladies that work there. They always treated me like royalty and I never had a bad encounter with Carla (owner). However, my girls were treated poorly….many times were given an attitude is I was not present, some were over charged which I had to straighten out and the seamstress, Nora, was not that great. The dresses were hemmed and when the girls picked them up, some of their slips were below the dress line which I had to point out to Nora to correct ( she would always say oh, that how it is supposed to be….no I don’t think so)….overall just not impressed with the way the girls were treated there. ~ Heater020780

David's Bridal

Re: Wayne location I just went for my final dress fitting tonight and they did an awesome job on my bustle. I didn't need any other alterations because my dress fit otherwise perfectly. But the bustle was pretty complicated and they had to do a 10 point french bustle. It came out great! I was a little worried based on some of the reviews I have seen from people but they did a great job. Through this whole process, the Wayne store has been great-no problems whatsoever. We got all the dresses there, including my BM, FG and both mom's dresses. I would definetely reccommend the Wayne store if anyone is looking to get a dress at David's Bridal. ~ goaliegirl

Demetrios Salon at Macy's Menlo Park

Dolores Bridal - Edison

East West Bridal - Secaucus

The owner is a bit much personality wise but once you don't have to deal with him anymore (i.e. after your dress comes in) it is smooth sailing. The alterations woman, Nancy, was very sweet and always listened to what I had to say whenever I had a fitting. On the day of my final fitting I felt that the top of my dress was too tight and it was giving me serious back fat. She took the dress off me and moved the hook over a little bit. It fit perfectly after that and she was done in less than 10 mins. The only reason they don't get an A is bc they originally told me my dress would be in in Nov. Then they told me January and then it finally came in in the beginning of February. Not a good thing to do to an impatient bride! ~Melissa721

Exquisite Bride Milburn

Hearts for You - Manalapan

This place is fantastic! They are a small store with a very large selection of bridal gowns, MOB dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and FG and RB attire. They give personal attention even after you make the purchase. At every fitting each person who worked there knew my name, as well as my parents names. The seamstresses they use are OUTSTANDING! They did a lot of custom beading on my train and it looks like that’s how the dress was made. They also created a jacket from fabric that matched my dress to cover my shoulders during the ceremony. Flower girl dress was also purchased here. ~ Caryn1980

Lisa (the owner) is such a sweetie and has high quality dresses and accessories at a very reasonable price. The only reason she is not getting an A+++ is because when I had to return my shoes because the size was not right she would only issue me a store credit instead of a refund. ~ Bashert628

Kleinfeld Bridal - NYC

Overall, I had an excellent experience at Kleinfeld.Keasha was my bridal consultant and she was amazing.Mariella was my seamstress and for all of my fittings she was great. The only problem I had was that my hem did not sit right, it kept flipping up.My only suggestion would be to make sure you try on your dress when it's 100% done (maybe most people do this, I'm not sure).I tried it on for every fitting obviously, but for my last fitting the hem still wasn't sewn b/c they save that until the very end in case you change shoes. So when I went to pick it up I just took it, but I wish I had tried it on one more time when the hem was completed.Sorry if that's confusing.Overall, I loved my dress and had a good experience at Kleinfeld. ~cknud112

Memories Bridal by Reem

Reem was always super sweet to me, both in person and on the phone. I can't say the same for her staff. Also, I was told my dress would be in in 4-6 months. Long story short, it took 11 months, and I was given the run around. Their communication skills and follow up are lacking. Re: Alterations I really cannot complain here at all. I wasn't one of those gaga over my dress gals, but the day I picked it up, I really fell in love with it. There were 2 changes I was going to have made to my dress. One of which I changed my mind about bc of their customer service skills - I didn't trust them too much at that point. The other was to change the neck line. At my final fitting, 10 days before my wedding, I finally got to see the altered neckline, and I was less than impressed. I didn't say anything then, thinking I was sufferring from bride brain, and decided to sleep on it. Long story short, I decided to speak on it, and went back the monday before the wedding - just three days before I had to pick up the dress and explained to her what I didn't like. I went back that Thursday, and for the first time since I'd seen the dress on the manequin when I went dress shopping, I LOVED my dress. Also, I'm a bustle whore and they did a beautiful 5 pt bustle which stayed in ALL NIGHT, no problems. The dress also fit perfectly ~ Sinthya

NJ Bridal Outlet

Michael and his sister were great. My alterations came out beautifully and so did my bustle. They were very resonable priced as well. The desinger of my girls dresses stunk. Mori Lee. They made their dress in the size 2 completely wrong. We had some issues with that. Which was not NJ Bridals fault. The only thing that went wrong is that they forgot to alter Chelsea's dress. But they did deliver it to my rehersal dinner for us. ~ mcconvillejulia

Park Avenue Bridals - Verona

I'll give them 2 scores. A for when i was searching for a dress. The were very helpful and B after i bought the dress. The alteration lady (jasmine) was very nice but my dress for some reason was extra long on the wedding day and i kept stepping on it. I had on the same shoes i did my fitting with. They lost my blusher and i couldnt do anything about it. I got the veil and blusher from another store and they offered to steam it with my dress. When it was time for pick up the veil was there but not the blusher. They claimed they had no record of it since i didnt buy it from there. Good thing my veil was a double layer so i just used the top as a blusher. ~ oby

Park Avenue was great from the start. They werent pushy with me to purchase the first time I went and were patient with me trying on a million dresses and coming back a second time to try on the top 3. I worked with Ginny when picking the dress. They let me come and try on my dress when ever i wanted since it came in early. I bought my headpiece and veil there and everything came in on time and was beautiful. Alterations went well and my dress fit perfectly day of. My bustle broke day of during our first dance but that was bc I was insistant on not taking away from the visual of the train so it dragged a little and hubby stopped right on it while dancing and the button popped off....nothing ripped and it probably would have held up the whole night if it wasnt for him:0}
I had a really great experience with Park Avenue and I would recommend them to anyone, but seriously listen to the seamtress when she tells you how to do the bustle! ~ Dancer2873

Priscilla of Boston in Shorthills

Used Joann. Sooooooo helpful! Would have brought me the whole store if I wanted. Was very willing to work around budget. Store was extremely clean & neat. Very nice anytime I called or needed something. Fittings went smoothly. Girls received a discount bc I bought my dress there. They were all in on time and fittings were quickly. Sister also bought her dress here 5 years before me! Excellent. Excellent! ~ Mags0220

RK Bridal

I ordered my dress from here and did not receive any communication that the order was received. Luckily, 4 months later the dress arrived! Also ordered all the bridesmaids dresses through the No-Frills program and was very pleased. ~ teamAandE

Something Special Bridal Salon

The women at this place are truly amazing. Every time I went in there, I felt as though I was the most important bride in the world. They really do make you feel extra special and care a lot about you. I had no problems with my dress, or any of the 6 BM dresses either. The day I picked up my dress, I was given a bottle of champagne and a thoughtful card-it was so sweet of them. I would highly recommend this store to any girl who wants an a wonderful bridal dress experience. ~ misskris927
